Understanding The Importance of the UK Forest Stewardship Council
The UK Forest Stewardship Council, is an international organization, non-governmental in nature, whose mission is dedicated to promoting responsible management plans for the world s forests. The FSC looks at ways of spreading healthy and sustainable practices across the world that allow for the jobs and the needed resources to be produced. This can be done without the destruction of protected forests and while encouraging practices like replanting and selective harvesting that allows the world s ecosystems to remain healthier. The council is based out of the UK, and their approach is very specific. Any plans or actions they take need to be: Environmentally friendly Socially beneficial to those in the area Economically viable to all involved Tackling Issues Tackling these issues with all three of these standards helps make their programs and support longer lasting since they care about indigenous people, about citizens who need jobs and a better way of life, and the environment.
