Transform Your Garden With Our Timber Decking Tiles!

As the summer begins to approach, thoughts inevitably turn to long summer evenings and the promise of never-ending BBQs! If you would like to transform your garden area into something truly special, offering the perfect venue for entertaining friends or relaxing by yourself, the installation of decking can go a long way towards this. Wallbarn Timber Paving Tiles Give your garden area, patio or balcony the affordable makeover that it deserves with our range of decking. By using our suspended timber decking tiles, installers combine the natural, attractive finish of timber decking with the speed and ease of laying paving slabs. Traditionally laying timber decking directly onto these deck surfaces led to additional costs of employing specialist carpenters. Laying timber joists directly onto the waterproofing membrane also risked damage over time. Our timber decking tiles offer the perfect solution. The weight of the tile will hold the system in place. The Many Benefits Of Green Roofs In The City

If you are concerned about the impact of your property on the local environment, there are many things that you can do around your home to reduce your carbon footprint and lead a more sustainable lifestyle. For example, the installation of a green roof on your home offers many environmental benefits, as well as making your home more energy-efficient. What exactly is a green roof? Simply put, it involves growing vegetation on the roof of your property, rather than just having shingles or tile. Actually growing plants on your house without damaging the structure or killing the plants requires some effort, but the basic idea is simple. Once a green roof is in place, you will experience many benefits from its presence. A simple benefit is simply the aesthetic appeal. Having green plants growing on your roof can be a lot more attractive than dull, gray tiles. It certainly will give your home a unique appearance that will make it stand out in contrast to your neighbours. Waste Reduction A g

How Green Roofs Help To Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

Global warming is one of the most significant challenges facing our civilization. If we are not able to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the Earth will experience a significant warming trend that will put a great deal of strain on our infrastructure and institutions. While much collective action needs to be taken, there are things that we can all do on an individual basis that can help. Making Home Modifications For example, making some simple modifications to your home can dramatically reduce your carbon footprint. This figure represents the amount of carbon dioxide that you are personally responsible for being emitted each year. A good way to start making a difference is by having a green roof installed on your home. With such a roof, you replace the standard shingles or tiles with green plants. This is not as simple as just tossing some grass seed on the roof of your home, of course, but the basic principle is the same. There are a number of ways in which gree

What Is A Green Roof And Is It Energy Efficient?

The green roof sensation is slowly taking the world by storm. Surprisingly, there are still many homeowners who are unaware of this approach and have no idea what a green roof is. It s not really a matter of colour, although many green roofs are indeed green. The ‘green’ actually refers to plant life and vegetation, which is supported on top of the roof for a few different reasons. Growing plants on your roof might sound like a crazy idea, but it presents a myriad of benefits to the modern homeowner, with increased energy efficiency being a primary advantage. Typically, a roof is designed with a slope and a point. This is intended to keep water off of the roof. The water rolls along the slopes, into the gutters, and down the drains. However, a green roof is slightly different in construction and function. It s actually built to trap the water on the roof. That water is used to fuel the plant life growing above. The Beauty Of The Eco-Friendly Green Roof It s not entirely as simple
